Halloween Birthday Card

Today's Mr Chad's birthday. I made him this birthday card using CTMH August Stamp of the month, "Wicked." and I slid a Sheetz gift card in the front pocket. When he goes to open his lunch box today, he'll find this card instead.

I can't wait for him to come home. In the mean time, the kids and are making him a cake and we'll be handing out treats to the neighborhood kids.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Boy in the Zoo Baby Shower Album

Today I wanted to share with you this last minute custom request I did a few days ago for a baby shower today.  I have to admit this book was a pleasant challenge for me. This is a tag album, with 20 tags and room for photos and additional notes.

I binded it using natural hemp cord. This was the first time I've created a tag book that wasn't wire bound, so I tripled the spacers in the spine to accomadate the extra layers at the end of the book.

Each tag is numbered from 1 - 18. Guest will pick a tag and write advice according to the number on the tag they choose. For example, if I get the number 3 then I'll write advice for a 3 month old baby. These tags slide into the flaps and fit into the punched notches I created. There is one tag on each side of the flap.

Since this was a last minute custom order I didn't have time to wait for the special order die cuts to arrive to finish the cover. The die cuts were arranged by the customer to be mailed directly to her so when she received the book and the die cuts she could complete the design on the front cover. I'm hoping she'll send a picture or post it on face book for us all to see it when it's done. I sent her die cuts of the baby's name to be added with the zoo animal die cuts she ordered.

As always, my little gift with this order is a few blank note cards. I used the Zoology stamp set that I think ties into the zoo animal theme nicely. I have to admit, I'm both happy and suprised in how this book turned out thus far. I'm looking forward to hearing from the book's new owner and again seeing the cover.

Baby Zoology Book

I got the new Zoology stamp set a few weeks ago and I've been seeing so many cute projects that you all have been making with it, that I couldn't resist making one of my own. I've chosen to use it on this zoology baby shower book. How cute is that?

Bella says it's "Retro" I didn't even know she knew that word! LOL..

Grateful Card

I received this cute card from a fellow CTMH consultant named Elizabeth. Thanks Elizabeth it was so sweet!

I just adore pumpkins in the fall. So much, we usually have a few growing in the front yard. I'll see if I can't get a few pics of them for you later this week. :)

While, I'm scrambling around doing my house cleaning today, I thought you all would enjoy this short video on using the Grateful stamp set and making this card.

Enjoy!

See you later!

Monday Mayham

Do you ever feel like once in a while you've got your fingers glue together? I know there's an old saying about having your hands tied, but recently I've been making a lot of new book covers and have glue on my fingers everytime I turn around! Unfortunetly, it doesn't wash off very easily either!

Anyway, over the weekend I picked up some pretty cool stuff a local fleamarket. Including some old records. I'm planning on recycling in the next few days and creating a book. I'll let you know how it turns out. Until then, I'm off to prepare for tomorrow's tutorial. This coming month we'll be doing a christmas card workshop and preparing for a time of giving. :)

Until tomorrow.
Happy Monday!

Amanda and James's Wedding Guest Book

Something Vintage for this couples nupitals. This dark gray and ivory lace themed wedding guest book was custom made for this very occassion.

I've given the name tag more of a classic look with a newer design and slipped it into a felt book sleeve to hold it tight and protect it when it's not being admired or shared with family and friends.

Something old, that is something new, and something that will be reused.

May your marriage be blessed, always.

Nature Wedding Guest Book

God's Will, God's Way, God's Time

This is the theme of this beautiful wedding guest book that is being used today for the wedding of two special people.

This is a custom 8.5" x 11" Wedding Guest book in Ivory, Bronze, and Autumn Orange.

I've added a vellum page printed with the couple's philosphy and tidings.

These signature pages are stamped in bronze and lined for guest signatures and later on as a gift registery in the later pages.

This couple's story truely touched my heart. My your marriage be a blessed one.

Mini Smash Book

I've been hearing a ton about smash books lately. Apparently, EK Success has a blank version of a smash book out that you can buy and make your own. I decided to give it a try. I came to realize that I've been making "smash" books for quite some time and just hadn't been calling them that.

I used my Bind it All, a bunch of scraps from my paper bin, and CTMH Roxie Acrylic Stamp Set to make this one.

There are probably way to many photos here, but bear with me, I wanted to show you some samples of where I stamped and the different sizes of papers I used in this book.
I stamped a little too hard on the left page and got a smudge of CTMH Cocoa Ink. Ordinarily, I'd rip out the page because it wasn't perfect. However, because this is a smash book, it isn't ment to be perfect, so my mistake just may turn out to become part of something special.

These are a set of little half pages I put in. If you've ever got those paper stacks of cut up papers from a local scrapbook supply store, you've probably seen these or have some in your stash.

Most of the pages in this book are 5 1/4" square. But you'll find some are 3" and 4" wide x 5 1/4" too. I used mainly pink and hot pink with a few ivory pages.
I have this habit on not being able to throw away left over scraps of ribbon and paper. Bug wanted to help, so I left her use my stamp sets and stamp out some roses, hearts, and other images that we cut out of white card stock. Then we took a handful of tags, embellishments, scrap ribbons, and stickers and stuck them in a little clear bag to cooridnate with our smash book. Bell added a fuzzy pen and asked if she could have it as a christmas exchange gift for one of her friends in girl scouts.

What a neat idea. Don't you think?

Tuesday Tutoiral: Roxie Gift Card Holder

Roxie Wallet Gift Card Holder Tutorial:

Supplies:

4 1/4" x 10.5" piece of B & T Duo Paper
3/4" x 6.5" piece of smoothie or desert sand card stock
1 designer brad
Scissors
Tombow adhesive
Corner rounder punch
Piercing Tool kit

Let's get started!

You need to score you paper at: 3", 4 1/4", 5 1/2", and 8 1/2"
Now here is the trick to this card holder. You want to fold your score lines in the center three folds first.
Your going to press the middle fold in like this. Then apply adhesive on the three out edges. I use tombow adhesive. If you don't have some, you can get it here.

As you can see, you now have a little flap in the center of your card. This is where we'll put our gift card. Optional: you can take your corner rounder punch and round off the edges of your card.
Remember that little flap from above? You'll need to cut slit across it for your gift card. I used a pair of the kiddo's scissors and made mine scalloped.
As you can see my Studio J gift card fit in quite nicely. :)

The last thing you want to do is create your card band. You'll need your 3/4" x 6.5" strip of card stock. I used smoothie for this and a designer brad. Just wrap your card stock around the middle of your card, but make sure you leave a smidge of room on each side so the band can slide on and off easily. Then attach to the two ends of your band together using a designer brad. (HINT: You can punch a small hole using a piercing tool.)

I have to thank GinaK for this super idea. Isn't it just fabulous?

I can't wait to show you how to make the next one!

See ya later,

Turquiose Damask Wedding Guest Book Album

Look familaur? Perhaps the cover does from this receipe book a few days ago.  However, this lovely guest book album was created for a couple in London. Yep, you read it right the good ole UK.
It's a lovely day for a wedding isn't it?

The inside pages of this soft cover album are blank and stamped in gold with a floral swag stamp. (Sorry the photo came out blurry so I didn't included it of the inside pages).

I binded it with gold thread to give it a more sophisticated feel.

Love the color, don't you?

Fall Wedding Trio of Guest Books

It's a beautiful fall day, and I wanted to share with you this trio order I completed a few months ago for a bride and groom.  I created three books, two for bridal showers, and the one in the last photo is for the wedding.

As you can see, I included some coordinating thank you cards with each book for the occasion.

The first two books have the "guests" and "gifts" column pages followed by blank card stock pages for photos. And lastly, the wedding guest book has lined pages entitled "Friends and Family".

Congrats to the bride and groom!

Wedding Recipe Book

This is a custom bridal shower guest book that I created recently in a turquios damask. The pages are heavy laser paper with the bride's inital in the bottom right hand corner of the pages.

I believe the guest will be asked to fill out their favorite recipe on the pages for the bride.

I made a another wedding guest book with this same cover for another couple that I'll be sharing in a few days. The next one will have different pages and be a little more on the formal side. :)

Either way, this is a beautiful book and I really enjoyed working with this customer to create a one of a kind keepsake.

Beaver Baby Shower Guest Book Album

Isn't he cute?

These are awesome fall colors for a baby shower! This paperback baby shower guest book has a tan cover with flecks of gold and dark orange. I just can't get over the beaver. Isn't he adorable?

I have one of these covers left. Sorry folks, but this guy is on his way to Australia.

Happy Fall Day!

Gracious in Green

It's a wet chilly fall day and I'm so glad I've been working on bright and cheery projects in the shop this week. I just finished this gracious green print paperback wedding guest book and it's merrily on it's way to it's new owner.

I've been feeling out of sink lately. We'll blame it on this wacky weather here in PA, but it's good to be back into the groove of getting my custom orders made for my customers. I can't wait to hear that this precious book has arrived safely for its intended couple.

Let's Make Music

Let's make some music today, shall we? You might have remembered another music guest book I made a few months ago, this one is simular in style. This guest book has a vellum sheet as the first pages with the couples song lyrics. Then we move on to the inside pages with lines for names and best wishes.

The color scheme of this book is navy, orange, and gray.

It's a medium hardbound 8.5" x 8.5" stab stitch book.

Makes you feel like singing doesn't it?
