Vintage Grey and White Baby Book

This past weekend I treated myself to some creative time. If you saw Friday's post on the gray and white vintage then you know I've had ideas spinning in my brain that I needed to work on.

I had started these book covers a while ago and with the yellow on the frame against the gray and white from Friday's post I came up with this baby album.

But I didn't think this is what my customer wanted, so it's now available in my etsy shop.

So I went to work again, and thinking of vintage and lace and the classic look of gray and white, I put together this:

Mr Chad says it looks more like a wedding book than a vintage baby shower. He may be right. What do you think?

I added these blank "baby" stamped pages inside.

Should I go back to the drawing board? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Fairy Guest Book

I had a special request this past week for a fairy guest book. I did up two designs, and this one got choosen for a baby shower.

Bell helped me on this one, she did the artwork on the fairy. The fairy comes from a free printable over at Sweet Coloring Pages.

Inside I took an treasured life stamp set from CTMH and stamped the inside pages. This is the first page of the book. All the other pages are blank with the flowers on the side.

I really love this design. It's available over in the shop.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Couples Book Cover Embellishments

I haven't worked on any wedding themed books in the past few weeks, so I decided to play around with my cricut and created these oval embellishemnts from two different cricut cartridges. They're now an add on option in the shop for personalizing any of my books.

I have to say I really like the bride. I'm working on a bride and groom one, too.
Which is your favorite?

Graduation Stripes Autograph Book

I really like this gray, black, and ivory striped graduation autograph book. It isn't as glittery as the book I showed you all a few ago, but it's simple and classic.

I'm thinking maybe a black and white polka one would look neat, too what do you think?

Zebra Baby Shower Guest Book Album

What a handsome little zebra! I love this! I used a cut of designer paper from CTMH's Roxie Collection and a die cut zebra thanks to my cricut to create this custom baby shower guest book album.
The inside pages are lagoon.

Congrats Melissa and Jorge on the newest member of your family!!

Golden Feather Peacock Wedding Guest Book

Today's Featured Guest Book is a repeat print of a Guest Book I made earlier last month, only this time I cut the cover different so there is more of the peacock feathers showing on the cover.

The inside pages are ivory and stamped with Bamboo Ink.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Vintage Bird Book Cover

This is the cover for a vintage bird guest book album that I've been working on for a baby shower.
I took a strip of burlap and did some cutting with my art philosphy cartridge and added some hemp and glitter. I'm planning on stitching it together with hemp too!

Thinking it would also look nice as a wedding or bridal shower book, too.

Mocha with a little Red Wedding Theme

I've been working on a custom order for a wedding guest book this past week. Sometimes to find inspiration I'll searched Google images. I thought this was perfect collection from Wedding Favors Unlimited for helping inspire the book for this custom order. The bride's colors are red, mocha, and white.

At first I was pictureing a white covered guest book with kraft signature pages and red photo pages, or white signature pages stamped in chocolate with red pages, then after seeing this, a whole new design came to mind.
I'll share that new design with you tomorrow. And let you see what the bride choose.

What design would you choose based on this kind of inspiration?

It's A Girl Baby Shower Guest Book

I've been working up a new design based on a special request for a custom order. Using the Art Philosophy Cartridge and some sweet little girl colors I've put together this baby girl shower guest book album.

What I really like about this cover design is that the colors can easily be swapped out in pink. It's hard to see by the second photo, but each page is design for a sweet message and a signature line at the bottom. I've still got to stitch this book together, and I'm thinking perhaps pink for the binding twine.

What do you think?

Lady Bug Love

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today's featured book is a new lady bug design I've created for birthday's and baby showers. I thought it fitting to share today with all the black, red, and white colors that seem to coordinate with Valentine's day.

A sweet little name card goes in the center of the book cover.

I tied it with red thread.

And here is the cute little saying on the first page. (author unknown)

I slipped in some red photo pages in the middle and placed gift record pages in the back. I just love lady bugs, that were my own little Bug got her name. :)

Getting Back to Books

I'm sorry for the silence here this past week as I've been battling the flu, ran off to a book conference, and returned with a horrible cold that blocked my sinuses and made it difficult to breathe let alone think most days.

But not even that could stop me from making some really awesome books this week for all of you. I've had a lot of custom orders requests over at the shop, please keep them coming. I love custom orders!!

I've also been busy making re-visions to a novel and finishing up the first draft of another, which you can find out about more over on my author site.

I've been even playing with the idea of illustrating my own children's book using my paper craft skills. I've been creating some cute pictures with paper and die cuts lately, and one night at 3 am the story flowed through my mind. I guess that is what happens at 3 am when you can't sleep becuase your sinuses are so stuffed up you can't breath. :)

Anyway, these week we're getting back to book. That's what I love and what I do best. I'm still a Close To My Heart Consultant and you can find the link on the sidebar of my blog, it will no longer be at the bottom of my posts. I'm also happy to announce that I've signed on with 3 Bugs In A Rug and will carry their cute papers in my studio for book cover options as well. I've been using a lot of their striped papers lately for baby shower and birthday book designs and am happy to say that I can make a book design more than once now that I can buy wholesale from them. :)

This week I have a lot of great new designed books to share with you. Most of them are custom orders from the shop, and I'm currently working out some matching invitation designs to add in with the thank you cards I've been making too.

If you missed my open house on February 3rd, and didn't have  a chance to visit my new studio, then stayed tuned and I'll be posting photos next week. In the mean time, I'd love to hear what you all have been up to while I was gone. Did it snow? We sure got some!

Baby Advice Card Album

This year I've challenged myself to create some new designesd books. Something out of the box that starts the trend instead of me casing other styles. This is another another album, only unlike my tag albums this one holds advice cards.
This particle baby advice card album holds 42 cards or the cards can be swapped for 3" x 4.5" photos.
I tied it up with shoe lace binding instead of the traditional stab stitch binding I've been using.  I'm thinking about trying this in a coptic binding too and adding more pages.

Isn't this a neat way to keep all those advice cards together?

New Years Wedding Photobooth Tag Album

I had the privelage of whipping up this custom New Years wedding album in a rush order around Christmas this week.

As you can see by this first page, it's not any ordinary kind of wedding album.  This new years wedding album was design to hold poloraid photos and wish tree tags. Kinda of cool, uh?

I have to admit it was the first time using my sewing machine to stitch paper, but that is probably the coolest part to me on creating this book. The hardest part was making sure the photo pockets lined up so when I stitched the pages the tag pockets matched onthe front and back of the pages.

Along with this special new years wedding album I hand stamped six dozen wish tree tags and strung them with red and white baker's twine. I'm so excited that CTMH will be offering baker's twin in the new idea book coming out in February!

It's New Years Eve! Is the party at your house or are you ending somewhere to watch the ball drop?

Happy New Year!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I am so grateful for all of you who have helped my business grow this year. I am especially thankful for those of you who started out as my customers and quickly became my friends. Becoming a CTMH Consultant in 2011 has provided me with such wonderful opportunties to gain new friendships and challenge and stretch my creativity.
I began my crafting business many...many years ago, and have been amazed how much I've learned through the processes. I've played around with many mediums until I found my niche making books and cards. What can I say, I just love books, and I really appreciate all of you supporting me through out the years. I'm looking forward to the new adventures in paper craftng that awaits us in 2012, especially if the new 2012 spring/summer idea book is any indication. Then it's going to be awesome!
This month I have a special gift to thank those of you that place an order (of any size) with me. Anyone who places an online order, a Club order, or calls or emails me with an orderany time during the month of January, will receive a FREE package of Remarks Glitter Rub-Ons ($13.95 value).

Christmas Greetings Card

The very first Christmas card I received today was from my 2nd Upline Susan. It was a refreshing in sight today to make me feel merrier about the upcoming holidays. We had snow last evening, but it didn't stick!

A really nice card. Thanks Susan!

Little Hoot Baby Shower

Another little Hoot Owl Baby Shower Guest Book Album to share with you all.

This lovely little owl is lavender with a pink cover. I love this combination. It's just so Girly!!

The inside pages say "Hoot...Hoot..." I don't think I ever get tired of creating color combinations for this book design.

What color option do you think I should try next?
