Vintage Grey and White Baby Book

This past weekend I treated myself to some creative time. If you saw Friday's post on the gray and white vintage then you know I've had ideas spinning in my brain that I needed to work on.

I had started these book covers a while ago and with the yellow on the frame against the gray and white from Friday's post I came up with this baby album.

But I didn't think this is what my customer wanted, so it's now available in my etsy shop.

So I went to work again, and thinking of vintage and lace and the classic look of gray and white, I put together this:

Mr Chad says it looks more like a wedding book than a vintage baby shower. He may be right. What do you think?

I added these blank "baby" stamped pages inside.

Should I go back to the drawing board? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Little Hoot in Yukon

I made up three of these sweet little forest themed owl books and as of today there's only one left in the shop. I'm working on altering the design to create a variety of color choices, but for now there's only one left, while in the mean time this baby book is on its way to the Yukon.... South Yukon Church of Christ that is. :)

Many Blessings to the new parents!

New Cover Designs

You may have noticed that recently I've added some new things to the shop. Mom's made some cards out of my scraps so I've added them for her. It keeps her occupied staying at home most of the time and some of them are pretty neat.

I've also added some new cover designs. Check these out!

I'll be adding some neutral and boy ones too in the following weeks.
I've decided to make a few changes in the shop that I hope everyone will like. I want to make my books more customizable for you all, so I have been listing the book covers with choice of inside pages. This way you create your own guest book and I just get the privilage of putting it all together for you to make the book that best suits you.

I'll still be listing some pre-mades in the shop and hopefully after the holidays I'll be able to get some new hardbounds in the shop as well.

I really appreciate all your patience these past few months as we've had to make adjustments here in the Lower household with Mr Chad being at home more and me having to go to work more outside the studio.

Golden Floral Wedding Guest Book Album

This traditional japanese stab stitch wedding guest book album is so pretty with the gold floral design. It's one of the few golden themed books I've done in a long time.

What do you think, is this book golden or what?

Mod Monkey Baby Shower Guest Book

This mod monkey book was such a treat to create. It's inspired from the zoology baby shower book I shared with you all a few weeks ago, Don't remember what it looked like, no problem, you can check it out here.

I didn't have the cricut cartridge for the die cut, so I order them from a seller on etsy. Then of course, I turned around and bought the create a critter cartridge two days after ordering the die cuts. The cartridge arrived before the die cuts, who would have thought!!

I customized the signature pages with a two column lined layout and kept the "baby" stamp at the top.

I'll be adding this to my inside page options very shortly.

Well, no more monkeying around for me, it's back to work in the studio!!

Hawaiian Daisy Wedding Guest Book

In just a few days, this cheerful daisy guest book will become filled with a couple's Hawaiian guests best wishes and advice.

I couldn't resist adding this little card to put beside their book. I used the ATypeset Stamp Set (A1117) to stamp the wording.

Since there was so much green in this Hawaiian daisy guest book album, I added a touch of purple ribbon to the book and don't you just love that pop of orange from the flowers on the card?

Something Old - Vintage Theme Wedding Guest Book

Something blue, something old, and something totally new describes this vintage themed wedding guest book album that was custom made for Andrea and Alex.

Inspired from a autograph book entitled "Bon Voyage" in my shop, this guest book takes on the vivid colors of a peacock. Stitched with golden thread, and yet still vintage in style.
There are no photo pages in this custom wedding guest book.  The pages are recycled brown kraft, which were supplied from a neighboring shop, KraftyGirl, on etsy.
Inside pages say: "Special note to the bride and groom"

Green Elegance Wedding Guest Book

We went through seeing this book in The Design Process, and then a few post later in the finished details of the triple stitched binding. Today, I'm showcasing this wedding guest book in honor for the couple it was made for.

This was a custom order designed and created for a gift to the bride from a dear friend.

As you can see, the orginal design was for red butterflies, but we switched the pages to the floral swag stamp in red. Beautiful.

Wishing this couple a blessed marriage.

Bridal Shower Guest Book - Dessert Island

This treasure island themed scrapbook journal is on it's way to becoming the keepsake of one lucky bride and her ocean/beach theme wedding. It almost makes me think of those survivor shows.

Only, if you were deserted on a island, and could only choose one person to have with you, who would it be?

This is an awesome bridal shower guest book album! What fun!

Elegance Wedding Guest Book - Custom Order

Remember the design from a last week's post titled, The Design Process?

Well, I finished it yesterday.

What do you think?

I don't want to show you too much of this wedding guest book album, as you will be seeing it again on one of my June 19, 2011 posts.

However, I couldn't help myself from showing off the triple binding in trio colors.  I have to say, this was the first time I'd tried to bind in three different colors and am quite impressed. I love the color varation. Don't you?

The Design Process

I appologize for being absent these past few days.  Sometimes one must just go off and renew their creative thinking. Like attending a craft show as a shopper instead of a vendor.

This past weekend was the spring craft fair at a local high school. I can't say I can home empty handed, but was delighted to see all the new ideas and talents of others. I wish I had taken my camera just to give you all a glimpse of the show.

When I came home, I've been working on some custom order request. Pictured above is a design I've been working on the past day and a half of a customer. It wasn't until I stepped away from this for a while, that I was able to come back and combined the colors and theme.

Green, yellow, and red.
Butterflies and florish
Formal Wedding Style

Most designers have trays or boards they used when putting together elements of a design. I just lay them out on the table and like a puzzle it all comes together. Like this one.

What you see above will soon become a 8" x 8" hardback wedding guest book album with pale yellow fabric binding and yellow photo pages. The cover will be the green florish paper you see, and the pages will be white with a stamped design.

In the meantime, I've got other hardback covers in the press that will soon need binding, and another custom order to finish up by the end of the week.

I just love custom orders. It's all in the design process, don't you think?

Fairy Tale Dreams

Unicorns and fairies....what is more mythical and imaginative than these?

I know... I told you just two days ago I was on a kick with these paperback journal albums. My oldest daughter loves purple, loves unicorns (so does her mom), and was totally bummed when I told her these were going into the shop.

The covers come from DCWV Fairy Tale Pack (affiliate link). I had the 8 x 8's left over from working on a scrapbook with my oldest daughter and recording our many adventures through out her many surgeries since birth.

The inside pages of these journal albums are grey and purple.  Like the Pregnancy & Mommy Journal Albums, there are 100 pages for writing and 18 pages for photos. The unicorn journal has deep purple card stock for photos in the back and the fairy journal album has lighter purple card stock pages.

I was inspired by the glitter floral design on the fairy cover and had a stamp that was similar, so I stamped the journal pages.

I apologize, it's hard to see the stamp at the top of the page. I've been trying hard to create better photographs, but my camera didn't seem to like me pushing all it's buttons...lol... so I settled for this photo. :)

Can you imagine creating your own fairy tales in the pages of these journal albums?
