DIY Toilet Paper Tower Recycle Paper Home Decor Project

You got to love Pinterest. I saw this recycled oatmeal canister idea a few days ago and thought, wow, we've got those!
Mr. Chad T. goes through a canister of Oatmeal frequently, it's a breakfast basic in our house. And, Bell is after my always to recycle more. This project took one piece of 12x12 designer paper, a roll of 3/4" wire ribbon and 1 sheet of black card stock 8.5" x 11" paper.

I found the quote on Pinterest, too. With kids in the house, I couldn't think of a more perfect quote. My friend the trailer trash to treasure diva loves quotes. I printed this one out using Microsoft Word and voila! A perfect toilet paper holder for in the bathroom.

This toilet paper tower holds two rolls of toilet paper. It's a quick and fun project to add a little humor and something practical to any bathroom in your house.

I gave this one as a gift to my friend, but the next one is totally mine.

Green Bottle Center Pieces

Don't know what to do with all those extra empty bottles laying around? Instead of toss them in the recycle bin, how about creating a simple and beautiful decorative center piece for your table?

I got this idea from seeing string covered bottles on pintrest. Got to love pintrest, right?

Recycled Valentine Boxes

We picked up baked goods at the grocery store last weekend as a treat. Bell didn't have the heart to toss the plastic muffin and cookie containers away, so we decided to recycle them.

Check out the girl's valentine boxes. Aren't they sweet?

This one was made by Bug. Didn't she do a great job?

And here is Bell's valentine box. She used some cut outs I had left from my cricut and left over scrapbook paper.

Boy didn't want to make one. Apparently, valentine boxes are only for girls.  I think it has something to do with all the pink and red for the day!

Momma's Mocha Cappuccino

Lately, I've been on a Mocha Cappuccino kick. It's so addicting, my husband has also been following the habit. After attending a recent Taste of Home show in November, I started flipping through the free copy of my Taste of Home Magizine and came across a recipe for Mocha Cappuccino. The recipe is as follows:  2/3 cup instant coffee, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup dry dairy creamer, 1 cup instant chocolate drink mix (like Nestle' or Ovaltine), 1/2 tsp of cinnimon, 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. Mix all ingrediants together and place in a container. Stir 3 tablespoons of mixture into 6 oz of hot water for some Mocha Cappuccino.

I used a recycled peanut butter container, took off the old label and created my own. This makes a great gift!
